I hope you're all doing well as the year progresses!
It's been a full week but I'm managing to produce comic strips. I aim to get another podcast done soon but I can't promise when.
The comics are coming to me easily, partly because the current content is produced from an old set of strips I did some years ago. I was just beginning to deconstruct my faith. Yep, I said the word "deconstruct." Revamping old content is taking me down memory lane. I wrote this particular storyline a few years before heading to seminary. The story was an opportunity for me to ask tough questions by using jokes and quirky observations about the Bible. It was my way of dealing with the text as bravely as I could without feeling irreverent.
There are so many revelations I've had since then and I can't wait to share them over time.
Well, that's it for tonight! Please, stay warm in this cool weather y'all!
This is a short comic that introduces the life of the early church father Maximus the Confessor. He would dare to defy the emperor's theological mandates. It would lead to his persecution. I illustrated this for all ages but more so for myself. I enjoy learning about the early church by turning the info into comic strips. I imagine others might enjoy it too.
