The goal post keeps moving for the nation. It is clear that being in denial is the modus operandi. At least we still can buy our lattes. At least we can still watch Netflix. At least we can still go on that date. 

The monster looms in the background just as it did for Ukraine, some three years ago. One minute there is laughter and the next there is panic! It can all be torn apart in hours, minutes, seconds. The destruction seems powerful to some but any of us who know what it takes to BUILD know better than to confuse destructive behavior with authentic power. Building takes true skill, cooperation, knowledge, patience and inquiry. 

Destruction is not power. Destruction is the envy of power. It is jealous of those who are patient. It is jealous of those who can learn and ask questions. It is even more jealous of those who can wait for the answers. It despises those who are wise enough to admit when they do not know a thing. Destruction has always been a parasite. Destruction is a thief and as Christ warned us "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy."
